Documents requested for type tests at the Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM)
The application for granting a type approval pursuant to the Radiation Protection Ordinance (StrlSchV) must include the following documents requested for type tests at the Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM):
- Description of the apparatus and its envisaged use,
- Technical drawings (overviews or explosure drawings) with specification of used materials (in addition, if available, in electronic form),
- Details on the radioactive sealed source, particurlarly drawings of the emitter and its holder, certifcates, classification according to ISO 2919, construction of the encapsulation of radioactive substance,
- Operating conditions and suggested period of use of the apparatus,
- Relevant information about the quality assurance system during the production of the apparatus and the radioactive source, based on norms and technical standards - according to Annex 3 of the document .
