New Vice President at the Federal Office for Radiation Protection

Effective 1 October 2015, Mr. Norbert Nimbach will assume the role as Vice President of the Federal Office for Radiation Protection (BfS). In this position he will be the permanent representative of BfS President Wolfram König.
Mr. Nimbach is very familiar with the functions and tasks of BfS. He has been Head of the BfS Central Department since 2004, where he already worked as the Vice President’s permanent representative. Mr. Nimbach has a degree in economics, he joined BfS in 1992 and was active as Head of the BfS Finances Section for several years.
As Vice President he succeeds Ms. Stefanie Nöthel, who will now serve as Head of Department at the Lower Saxony Ministry of Social Affairs, Health and Equal Opportunities. She returns to work at the regional government authorities of Lower-Saxony in Hanover for family reasons, where she had been active before she joined BfS. In earlier positions she worked as Vice President of the Lower-Saxony Office for Ecology and as Head of Division at the Lower-Saxony Water Management, Coastal Defence and Nature Conservation Agency. Nöthel joined BfS in 2007 and assumed the role as Vice President in 2009.
