Federal Office for Radiation Protection at didacta 2015 in Hanover

"How dangerous is mobile phone radiation actually? What is the radiation level emitted by my mobile phone?" From 24 through 28 February, you get answers to these and other questions about radiation protection, such as the protection against UV radiation, by the Federal Office for Radiation Protection (BfS) in Hall 14, Stall H48 at the joint stall with the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUB).

In good time before the warm season to come, the BfS also presents its proven teaching material on the topic of UV protection. As each sunburn in childhood increases the skin cancer risk substantially, it is of particular importance for children to learn from an early age how to protect themselves against solar radiation. The BfS offers free teaching material on the topic of UV protection for kindergartens, primary school and secondary school I.

An attraction at the BfS stall is a so-called phantom head with the help of which visitors can measure the level of electromagnetic radiation of their mobile phone and how much energy is taken up by the body while using the phone. The teaching material on the topic of mobile communication provides information to pupils from grade five as to the way mobile communication works and possible health risks. This free material is also presented at the stall.
