The STORE project was a Support Action funded by the European Commission under the 7th EURATOM Framework Programme. The project was addressed in the work programme topic: Fission-2008-3.1.1: Databases and Tissue Banks.

The consortium consisted of eight partners from five countries and was coordinated by the Federal Office for Radiation Protection (BfS), Germany. The project coordinator was Dr. B. Grosche.

The project started in April 2009 and ended after a duration of 42 months in September 2012.

The main goal of the project was to create a platform for the storage and dissemination of both data and biological materials from past, present and future radioepidemiological and radiobiological research.

This platform was successfully developed and is at no costs available to the scientific community. The platform consists of a "Data Warehouse" which can include data as well links to other data sets and pointers to available biological material. This will enable sharing data sets and experimental material. STORE provides a single portal to radiobiological information that is presently distributed over scientific centres worldwide. STORE provides the necessary Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the evaluation of archived tissue usability. The project will be further developed in the frame of CONCERT within the work package "Access to Infrastructures".
