Welcome at the Asse Mine!
At the Asse mine, a former salt mine, research and development work is performed on the disposal of radioactive wastes in salt formations. The emplacement of radioactive wastes terminated in 1978. As a service facility of mine is available for all those interested in research and development work on the safe disposal of radioactive and chemical wastes under realistic conditions. The closure of the mine shall be accomplished until 2017.
