Piece of rock fell from the roof on the 750-m level
No danger for workers
On the occasion of a control of the stabilisation measures carried out in front of chamber 10 on the 750-m level it was detected on the evening of 15 August 2013 that a rock measuring about 20 cubic metres and being 40,000 kilograms heavy got loose and dropped into the area to be backfilled.
The area had been confined so that a danger for the workers did not exist at any time. No damage has occurred at the equipment used for the backfilling, so that the works may carry on.
The exact cause of this drop is currently under investigation. The State Mining Authority was immediately notified about the incident.
