Cracks in mining district 3 on the 490-m level have opened further
Routine measurements in mining district 3 on the 490-m level have shown that the cracks in the dams between the reservoirs have opened further. Since the roof under mining district 3/490 is damaged, stabilisation measures are already taking place directly underneath on the 511-m level. The cavity there between roof and salt deposit (roof cleft) in district 3 has already been backfilled with Sorel concrete.
These operations must carry on in order for the roof being stabilised as soon as possible. In the reservoirs in mining district 3, influent solution is stored temporarily. Only one out of three containers is currently used. To secure the containers, they have already been coated with new lining and have additionally been equipped with a leakage warning system. One will continue to monitor the place intensely.
