Directive on compensation
As a consequence of the discussions about the safety of the Asse II mine, pecuniary damage in the form of considerable asset losses for companies may have occurred in the vicinity of the mine. For this purpose, according to the requirements set out in a Directive which can be found on the BfS homepage www.bfs.de, compensation can be granted in case pecuniary damage has occurred in the form of considerable asset losses
- In a tourism or educational institution,
- In restaurants and catering businesses or in accommodation facilities,
- Or in similar facilities.
Businesses having at least existed since 1 January 2007, can submit a written application unaccompanied by a form with all necessary data to Bundesamt für Strahlenschutz, Postfach 10 01 49, 38201 Salzgitter, by 16 November 2009.
There is no entitlement to the compensation, it can only be granted if sufficient financial funds are available.
